Staff Summary of Benefits

Benefit eligible (.75 FTE) employees at Northwest University receive a generous benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage (including zero monthly premium option for employee only coverage)
  • Health Savings Account (NU contributes annually - $750 to $1500 to eligible employee’s HSA, prorated on start date and coverage level)
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • Life Insurance at 1x the employee’s salary (no cost to employee)
  • Long-term disability Insurance (no cost to employee)
  • 403(b) Retirement Plan:
    • No vesting schedules
    • Employee pretax contribution deferral
    • Up to 3% matching contribution program
    • Annual discretionary employer contributions (up to 2.5% of your base salary at the end of the fiscal year for eligible employees)
  • On-site fitness center
  • 18 paid personal days (accruable over one year worked and increases with longevity)
  • 15 paid holidays (including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day)
