Alumni Summer Picnic Highlights

On Sunday, July 8, NU alumni and family members gathered at Perrigo Park in Redmond for the University’s first annual Summer Alumni Picnic. With perfect weather, lots of catered Chipotle, and plenty of outdoor activities, the event kicked off the start of a great tradition.

There was friendly competition all around as alumni played cornhole, Jenga, basketball, soccer, frisbee, and volleyball. Front and center was the sand volleyball tournament. After some challenging competition, Treavor Copeland and Michael Greene won the tournament, along with the $200 prize.

The alumni board took a moment to honor a longtime member during lunch and many simply enjoyed the sun together sitting on blankets while looking at old photos from a collage put together for the event.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from the picnic:

Aliya Shepherd, a recent graduate who attended the event, said she felt “blessed to have gone to a school that cares about their community even after graduation.” We feel blessed to be a part of this community as well.

We enjoyed reconnecting with the 90+ people who joined us and hope to see you at our next Summer Alumni Picnic on Sunday, July 14.
