New U.S. News Ranking Lists Washington as “The Best State in America”
A new study by U.S. News & World Report lists Washington as "the best state in America." The findings in this article, written by Levi Pulkkinen, show that the economy in Washington is growing faster than any other state in the country. The findings are partly due to the many tech giants that reside in the Seattle area, including Microsoft and Amazon, as well as Washington's agricultural strength with apples and hops. But based on these findings, the most significant contributor to Washington's healthy economy is clean energy.
Pulkkinen wrote that because of, "three large wind farms east of the Cascades, Puget Sound Energy, the state's largest power company, has become the nation's third-largest supplier of wind-generated electricity..." Washington also makes use of hydroelectric power generated by dams. This resource provides consistent energy that is also affordable.
We are indeed fortunate to have our main campus located in "the best state in America." The findings in this article and other wonderful qualities that weren't named make Washington an excellent place to learn and work.
