KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University has announced that Seattle Seahawks Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve Largent will be its guest of honor at the 4th Annual Eagle Hall of Fame Benefit on Friday, March 21, 2014. The event supports the university’s athletic department, funding scholarships for student athletes.

A member of the NFL Hall of Fame since 1995, Largent ended his 14-season professional football career holding six major receiving records and seven Pro Bowl appearances playing for the Seattle Seahawks.

Subsequently, Largent has served as a member of the United States Congress, representing Oklahoma. He has also worked as a consultant and motivational speaker, and has managed his own advertising and marketing company. Today, Largent is the President and CEO of CTIA – The Wireless Association®, an international nonprofit membership organization representing the wireless communication industry.

The Eagle Hall of Fame Benefit will be held at the Bellevue Hyatt Regency, and tickets are available to the public. The event will begin with a silent auction at 5:00 p.m., and the dinner and live auction begin at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds for the event will support scholarships for student athletes at Northwest University in the seven intercollegiate sports currently offered by the school.

“Who better to celebrate our Eagle heroes than a full-fledged NFL Hall of Famer who achieved greatness practicing on the same fields and in the same weight room where our Eagles work out today?” said Dr. Joseph Castleberry, Northwest University's President. “Largent has a lot to pass on. I encourage you to come with ears open. He’ll make us all ‘great receivers.’"
