Northwest University Hosts Sixth Annual Social Venture Business Showcase
This spring, the Northwest University College of Business hosted its Sixth Annual Social Venture Business Showcase.
Each year, Northwest University business students are invited to participate in this showcase, where they create business plans that address social needs using sustainable funding. These plans are then presented to the NU community in a tradeshow format where attendees evaluate the viability and creativity of the plans by awarding points.
This year, 12 different student-led project teams participated in the showcase:
- Barrel – a mobile job search and hiring application
- Dodgefees – an online concert ticket purchasing service
- Innergize – a make-it-yourself energy and protein shake stand
- L’Arrosto – a coffee shop and delivery service
- Man with a Plan – a date planning concierge service for men
- Mokobo – a meal replacement cookie company
- Motorcycle Touring Guide – a mobile motorcycle touring application
- Rice Brgr – a food truck featuring signature rice buns
- Sea Bus – a group traveling service for events
- Xavier – a mobile application to track personal transformation
- YouSwap.com – a buy, sell, and trade website for college students
- Youth Sports – a company connecting club sports teams to athletes
NU is extremely proud of these students and their social venture business ideas.
