The Northwest University College of Arts and Sciences will present this year's Regius Award to Dr. Jason Streubel on Thursday, October 24 at 7 PM in HSC 104. This annual award recognizes NU alums for outstanding work demonstrating the integration of faith and discipline.

Currently, Dr. Streubel oversees the agricultural development division for Convoy of Hope and also teaches at Evangel University. Dr. Streubel is instrumental in providing NU science students with on-the-ground experience in Haiti each summer.

Guest Speaker Dr. Webster To Speak About T.S. Eliot

Northwest University English professor Jeremiah Webster will give the Regius lecture on the topic Paradise in The Waste Land. He will share on the importance of T.S. Eliot for understanding contemporary culture based on the recent Paradise in The Waste Land publication. This book discusses Eliot’s early works and includes a critical introduction written by Dr. Webster.

“Jeremiah Webster's brilliant introduction leaves no doubt about Eliot's relevance for a new generation of readers.”

-Lee Oser, author of T.S. Eliot and American Poetry and The Ethics of Modernism: Moral Ideas in Yeats, Eliot, Joyce, Woolf and Becket.

“Dr. Webster’s introduction offers compelling reasons for experienced readers to revisit Eliot, and powerful incentives for new readers to explore the landscape of this immeasurably influential artist.”

-Dr. E Victor Bobb, Whitworth University
