Dawn Jordshaugen Memorial Scholarship
Dawn Michelle Jordshaugen was a beautiful young woman with a sparkling smile and a sense of humor that brought laughter to the doctor’s offices where she worked. She began her training as a medical assistant at age 20. Patients loved her for her caring, friendly attitude and technical skills.
Early in the five years Dawn was a medical assistant she took and passed an examination to become a certified medical assistant (CMA). Working at a Kirkland medical clinic in 2000 she heard about a new nursing school that was about to open at Northwest University and decided she wanted to go back to school to get an accredited nursing degree. Before Dawn could realize her dream, she contracted a staph infection and died on June 16, 2000, a month before her 26th birthday.
This scholarship in her memory seeks to honor her passion to care for others through the field of nursing.
