Jordan/Dahlgren/Milam Memorial Scholarship

John and Patricia (Patty) Jordan wish to honor their parents, David and Patricia (Patti) Jordan and Richard and Bertha (Birdie) Dahlgren, and John’s maternal grandparents Paul and Miriam Milam, by establishing the Jordan/Dahlgren/Milam Memorial Scholarship. John and Patricia have had long careers in the accounting and nursing fields respectively. At the time of the establishment of this endowment, John serves at Northwest University as its Chief Financial Officer. Their desire is to honor their parents and grandparents by establishing this endowment in order to give scholarship gifts to students who are either nursing majors or accounting majors at Northwest University.

John’s parents, David and Patricia Jordan, had a significant impact on John during his early years, and continued to have a significant impact through their lives—from marriage, to having children, and now grandchildren. They were both Godly people who had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and prayed regularly for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their Godly example of giving has left a mark on John and Patty to this day.

Patty’s parents, Richard and Bertha Dahlgren, encouraged Patty in the pursuit of her nursing degree. Richard came to faith one week before his death through the prayers of a Northwest University alum. Birdie lived with John and Patty for many years and shared her love language of giving gifts to them, their children, and grandchildren. Birdie’s life was a life full of love to all who encountered her.

John’s maternal grandparents, Paul and Miriam Milam, are the cornerstone that the family’s faith is built upon. Paul was a 1947 graduate of Northwest Bible Institute and served as a pastor for many years. Paul and Miriam were prayer warriors and prayed for their family members, by name, every day. They also instilled in others their example of giving monetarily to further the cause of Christ.

By establishing this endowment, John and Patty honor the memory and legacy of their family, and encourage other family members, their children and grandchildren to continue being followers of Christ, generous people to the cause of Christ, and to add to this endowment as they have the ability and resources to do so.
