Charting the Future: Milan Araujo

A celebration of spring has begun! Many of us will soon take our annual trip to the tulip fields up in Skagit County to see the riot of colors spreading across the acres and beautifying the world. The fresh new life and diversity of spring offers us hope at the end of our long, gray winters. Soon enough, the glorious northern summers will reach us with their warm rays and long days.

In a spiritual sense, America has experienced a long winter over the past few years—a challenging season that cries out for some relief. As I mentioned at our President’s Banquet in February, we believe at Northwest University that we are training right now the leaders of the Next Great Awakening. The young men and women in our classrooms represent the flowering of their generation, and if American history is any guide, they should be in full bloom at just the right time to lead a return to spiritual vitality and rebirth in our precious country.

Milan Araujo offers a great example of the next generation of American leaders. Born in an immigrant family, he has personally experienced the currents that have shaped our landscape. Raised in church, he has breathed in the high-intensity faith of a family that knows deep struggle to survive and thrive in a new land. Educated at Northwest University, he has gained a deep understanding of the ancient Christian faith and the history of the Church that offer real solutions to the dilemmas of our postmodern age. Now a husband, he has already embraced the responsibilities of adulthood and is learning the traditional principles of family life that many in his generation will discover as if they were brand new truths. Serving as a youth pastor at a growing suburban megachurch, he is building the skills that will prepare him for significant responsibilities in the Church and in society in the years ahead.

Milan is a leader who is already worth following, and his future will flourish in the years ahead as America returns to faith in Christ. Like him, the students of Northwest University have a massive task in the years ahead. And because of the formation they are receiving now, they’ll be ready! Thank you for helping us set them up for success in the future awakening of America.
