Unpacking Scholarships

Much of high school is spent earning grades that will make you eligible for scholarships. This is one of the most important pieces of your high school experience, but good grades make a bigger difference at some schools than others. Many schools have good scholarships, but extremely high tuition, while others have cheaper tuition, but hardly any scholarships.

At Northwest University, we are fortunate to have one of the lowest tuition rates for private Christian schools on the West Coast in addition to generous scholarships. Take our academic scholarships, for example:

Award GPA ACT SAT (New) SAT (Old)
$ 8,000/yr 3.0+ 22-24 1100 1500-1660
$ 10,000/yr 3.0+ 25-27 1200 1670-1830
$ 12,000/yr 3.0+ 28+ 1300 1840+

If you meet the requirements for one of the above scholarships, it will immediately be added to your financial aid award letter.

But it doesn’t stop there.

We have numerous other scholarships that you might be eligible for. For athletes, significant scholarship money is available for each of our different sports teams. For musicians, talent scholarships are available that range anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 a year. And each year, students compete for the President's Scholarship, which is worth full tuition.

These are just a few of the many scholarships offered through Northwest University. For a complete list, click below:

Here's how one student described his experience with NU's various scholarships:

"When I was a senior in high school, I applied to three different schools: NU, another private Christian school, and a state school. I got great scholarships at the other Christian school, and tuition was less expensive at the state school. But the combination of good scholarships and reasonable tuition at NU made it the most affordable option for me." - Isaac P.

All of these scholarships are only available to students who have applied. That could be you.
