Our Location

One of the most important factors in choosing a university is its location. After all, you'll be spending the next 4 years there, so you want to be sure that a school's location works for you on many levels—from recreational possibilities to transportation access to internship and job opportunities.

Kirkland, Washington

We may be a little biased, but there are very few locations better than Northwest University. Money magazine agrees—they named Kirkland as the 5th best place to live in the U.S.

Kirkland is located just outside of Seattle, a city that has one of the best job markets in the U.S. In fact, Seattle was ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the 6th best city in the U.S. for finding jobs! With world class brands like Microsoft, Amazon, Nordstrom, Boeing, and Starbucks headquartered here, no wonder some call it the "City of Opportunity."

But can't you go to college anywhere and then move to a city like Seattle with its abundance of job opportunities? You could, but a smarter approach is to attend school where you want your career to be located. After all, there are few things as difficult as earning your degree in one location, then moving to another unfamiliar place and attempting to establish meaningful connections with friends and prospective employers. Thankfully, NU's proximity to Fortune 500 companies, schools, hospitals, and churches make it easy to find a career in your desired field when you graduate.

Seattle, Washington

And don't get us started on beauty. The Pacific Northwest is known as one of the most stunning places to live in the world. Six Washington cities made it into Livability's Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S., and four of those cities are within an hour of campus! From breathtaking mountains to the majestic Pacific Ocean, and lakeside parks to the iconic Space Needle and Pike Place Market, Washington is blessed with an incredible landscape. Check out this awesome Seattle time-lapse video.

Space Needle

Seattle is also home to one of the best transit systems in the U.S., according to Business Insider. In fact, we were ranked #7 in the country! The 255 bus line runs by NU's campus entrance, taking you directly to downtown Seattle, where you can stay and see the sights or take the light rail to Sea-Tac International Airport for your flight home for the holidays. Our local public transportation is very reliable and easy to use.

At NU, you'll live in a great place with great people. Stop by for a visit. You'll love what you see.
