Undergraduate Payments and Late Charges

A notification will be sent to each student’s Northwest University email at the beginning of each month with a link to the latest University Account Statement. Making Payments

Payment for all semester charges, tuition, and fees must be paid in full or with a payment plan on or prior to the due date given to you by your Student Financial Services Counselor. A 1.5% service fee will be added to credit card and online debit card payments. There is no fee added to electronic check payments.

There are a few ways to make a payment:

Cashier’s Office

Pay in person at the Cashier's Office located at Bronson 11 in the Ness Academic Center (cash, credit/debit card, check).

Online

Sign into the My Profile page on the Eagle Website and use the “Transaction and Running Balance” button to view all account activity and your current balance. Use the “Make an Online Payment" button at the bottom of the page to make a credit card or electronic check payment.

If you cannot sign into the Eagle Website or to make a payment on behalf of a student, use the Manual Payments tool. You’ll be asked to enter the University ID Number and birthdate of the student whose University Account will be credited, the payment amount, and then either your credit card or electronic check information.

Payment Plan with Nelnet Campus Commerce

Northwest University offers payment plans through Nelnet Campus Commerce, which allows you to pay your education expenses in smaller, more manageable monthly installments. Fall offers three to six monthly payments. Spring offers three to five monthly payments. Summer does not have payment plans available for on-campus students. Signing up for an incorrect plan can result in additional fees and/or payment plan cancelation. Please read all directions and disclosures and reach out to studentfinancialservices@northwestu.edu if you have questions or need assistance.

A payment plan is set up for each academic term based on estimated charges less estimated financial aid (excluding work study). To see your annual estimated net balance owed, refer to your Cost Estimate and Financial Aid Award Letter. Annual amounts on your Cost Estimate Should be divided to determine how much is owed and awarded per term. If you did not file for financial aid, please contact Student Financial Services for costs.

Additional Information:

  • $75 enrollment fee each term
  • Automatic Payments (ACH)
  • Enroll early for smaller payments
  • Plans are set up for each academic term
  • Summer term plans are NOT available
  • Only for current and/or future terms
  • International students are not eligible
  • Register for Text Services to receive notifications

Enroll Online:

  1. Log into your Eagle Profile
  2. Under “My Account” select the link “Nelnet Payment Plan”.

Declined Payments

Bank declined payments returned to Northwest University, for insufficient funds or any other reason, may incur a Returned Item Fee of $30. Additionally, after 3 returned payments in the past 12 months, the student account may be restricted to payment with secured funds only (wire, cashier’s check, money order, or cash) until two consecutive semesters of successful payments are completed.

Late Charges

A late fee of 1.5% of the owing balance will be assessed after the payment due date.

You will be unable to register for future semesters or obtain diplomas until your outstanding balance is paid in full.

If unpaid, the owing balance may be referred to a collection agency. You will be responsible for those additional fees of up to 40% added to your outstanding balance.
