Position Summary
Northwest University is seeking a collaborative, student‑centered, and mission‑driven Assistant/Associate Provost. This position plays a key role in shaping the academic direction of the university by supporting essential academic services, fostering strong campus partnerships, and advancing institutional excellence. The role contributes to initiatives that strengthen academic programs, enhance the student experience, and uphold Northwest University’s commitment to faith and learning.
The ideal candidate is an academic leader with a deep commitment to assessment, student learning, and faculty development, and who thrives in a Christ‑centered higher education environment. Candidates must demonstrate a meaningful commitment to Jesus Christ, the church, and the Gospel.
Essential Functions
- Lead organizational and academic assessment efforts by directing departmental work, supporting academic assessment activities, and providing training.
- Ensure institutional compliance with accrediting bodies and regulatory requirements, serving as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to the NWCCU.
- Collaborate with Student Services and academic units, including Academic Success & Advising, the Registrar’s Office, the Library, and International Education. At the Associate Provost level, the role additionally includes supervisory responsibility for the directors of these areas.
- Enhance student learning and the student experience, including leading support initiatives for various student populations.
- Direct campus‑wide survey administration and data reporting.
- Assist in developing new academic programs and initiatives, providing guidance and oversight as needed.
- Assist with faculty development and coordinate programming for first‑ and second‑year faculty, in collaboration with the Provost.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate preferred; master’s degree with sufficient academic and professional qualifications considered.
- Involvement in higher education leadership; 3–5 years preferred.
- Background supporting faculty and students; prior service as an academic administrator, full‑time faculty member, or student services leader preferred.
- Academic qualifications commensurate with appointment to the Northwest University faculty.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and collegial Christ‑centered work environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively across varied teams.
- A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Northwest University.
Compensation
Based on education and experience, this position has a pay range of $85,000 to $96,000.

Accreditation
Northwest University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (regional). The University is endorsed by the Commission on Christian Higher Education of the Assemblies of God and the Association of Christian Schools International. The University holds membership in the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities.
Northwest University's College of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The Buntain College of Nursing’s baccalaureate degree is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. In addition, the College of Nursing has received approval from the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. The University is also approved by the Board of Education and Superintendent of Public Instruction of the State of Washington to prepare elementary and secondary education teachers and recommend for certification. It is a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Northwest University's doctoral program in counseling psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
The University is approved by the Federal and State Governments for student aid programs and for the training of international students. Selected programs of study are approved by a Washington State Approving Agency for enrollment of those eligible for benefits under Title 38 and Title 10, U.S. Code and by Washington State for training in Vocational Rehabilitation. It is listed in the current bulletin, "Accredited Higher Education Institutions," published by the U.S. Office of Education.
