Message from the Director
Pastors, Students and Families,
We wanted to provide an update in light of the current health crisis in our nation. This month Washington Governor Jay Inslee issued a set of directives that advised against bringing together large groups of people for events and community gatherings in the coming weeks. Though it is unknown right now, for the safety of all, some of these restrictions may be extended well beyond this time frame. We believe that one of the ways we can love our city, community, and world in this season is by taking cautious steps to help eradicate the spread of COVID-19. In light of this fact and the unknowns of the next few months, the Summer Journey executive team has decided to cancel Summer Journey activities for the 2020 calendar year. We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and do apologize for that.
Students who applied and were accepted to the Summer Journey in 2020 will, if still in high school next year, receive an invitation to join us for Summer Journey 2021. Families that have submitted program payments and/or deposits online will be reimbursed in full. Credit will be returned to the card used for payment within 30 business days of April 1, 2020. If you or a family member have any questions, please feel free email our program coordinator Destiny Kennedy at email@example.com.
Though the landscape of ministry is changing in this cultural moment, our mission has not. We are committed to raising up a generation of passionate, thoughtful Christian leaders. May each of us, now more than ever, find our unique place in God’s story as we serve the world and preach the gospel in such a time as this.
Praying for each of you as you minister and model faith to your family, friends, and neighbors in this time of uncertainty.
Only By His Grace,
Dr. Joshua R. Ziefle & the Summer Journey Executive Team

Finding Our Place in the Story of God
When our story and God's story collide, we're never the same! That's why the Summer Journey exists; to help High School students develop a greater awareness of their unique, God-given calling by exploring their own story and deepening their understanding of the biblical story. For 9-days students will stay on NU campus, form deep friendships with like-minded peers, enjoy fun activities and outdoor adventure in the greater Seattle area and experience the Bible in new ways with the help of leading pastors and professors.
