Summer Accounting Office Assistant

| Time Commitment | 30-40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. May through August |
Essential Functions
- Serve as Cashier by handling phone calls, receiving payments by phone and in-person, and maintaining the Master Check Log accurately.
- Prepare assigned monthly journal entries.
- Assist with accounting office duties, including data entry, sorting mail, copying, mailing, date stamping, filing, and shredding.
- Assist in special projects.
- Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations and make correcting entries, if applicable.
- Perform other work and related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Must be detail oriented: thorough and accurate.
- Ability to handle repetitious and sometimes tedious tasks.
- Must have some computer experience: MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Must be dependable, reliable, and a self-starter.
- Ability to work with highly confidential information.
- Office experience preferred.
Working Environment
- Work is generally performed indoors in a typical office setting.
- Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
Physical Demands
The functions are usually performed while sitting or standing, but may involve some amount of time stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting (max. of 40 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. The abilities of seeing, hearing, and speaking are also required.
