 Mety D.

Mety D.

NUhope Student Therapist

Mety is dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate the emotional, psychological, and relational challenges of life. She views therapy as a sacred and transformative space that fosters self-discovery, deepens understanding of the world, and strengthens the relationships that enable authentic and purposeful living, regardless of where someone is on their journey. With a deep passion for personal growth, Mety helps clients identify their core values, life-worth-living goals, develop practical tools for managing distress, and take meaningful steps toward a more fulfilling life. She creates a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Fluent in both English and Amharic, Mety brings a unique ability to connect with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Education

Mety earned her Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from Northwest University in 2023 and currently practices as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Seattle. In the fall of 2023, she began pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) at Northwest University, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2028. She regularly consults with licensed psychologist supervisors and peers to ensure she provides the highest quality of care.

Special Interests

Mety enjoys traveling, reading, listening to podcasts, cooking, and spending time with her family. Recently, she has discovered that cruising offers her a favorite way to explore new places and embrace the excitement of life adventures.
