Welcome Weekend Testimonials

It helped me establish a sense of community as soon as I moved in. It was great to follow my Welcome Weekend group through my first semester and become close with many of the members.

I was glad I was a part of Welcome Weekend because I was able to create lasting friendships with the people I met. I wasn’t too excited about WW when I first heard about it since I didn’t know anyone a part of it. I was reluctant to attend, but I was able to meet some awesome Christian guys and create my first real friendships grounded in God.

My favorite part of Welcome Weekend was Experience Kirkland. I got to take a walk around town, hear about my leader's favorite spots, and take a jump in the lake. It was a great way to start my first semester here.

My favorite part of Welcome Weekend was meeting with the professor of my major and meeting the other incoming students in my major. From that moment my professor continued to stay connected to us, which made me feel incredibly welcomed and genuinely cared about.

Leave your door open! Especially with everyone moving in, it is a great opportunity to say hi to everyone walking past your door.

I would encourage any incoming student to press in! Don’t be afraid of being vulnerable with people and creating new friendships. Northwest is so much more than just a university. It is a hub of like-minded, caring, God-fearing people. The friendships you will make are lasting, and the connections that come with it is so incredible. God is using Northwest to shape me and refine me, which was jarring at first, but I would encourage anyone to let him start to use you for his design!

As a transfer student, Welcome Weekend was a refreshing reality of how special NU really is. It is wildly different than any other school I have experienced, especially having God connected into EVERY class, even general education classes!
