Using Inertia to Pump Water

Yuri Semenyuk, a Northwest University graduate who earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins, explained how ground pumps can use inertia instead of fossil fuels or electricity to pump water. Yuri used this  technology working with “Engineers Without Borders” in South Africa. He was the guest lecturer in the Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship program at Northwest University. Wash. - In front of the largest crowd of the season, the Sounders Women notched a crucial 2-1 victory over Santa Clarita to keep their playoff hopes alive in the W-League of USL Soccer. The top 2 teams in the Western Conference will play for a spot in the national Final Four and this victory gives the Sounders 11 points, equal with the Colorado Rush. Read more
